The Purpose and Goal of This Book

The purpose and goal of this book is to show through evidence that with

the practice and maintaining of rigid beliefs, we set up deeply entrenched

neural networks that not only reflect the limitations of our beliefs but also

limit and distort the way we see the world around us. We have many terms

for such people, terms such as "tunnel vision," "hardheaded," "shortsighted,"

and a long list of psychiatric labels to point out that the person in question

simply cannot understand what another person may see clearly. One of the

scientific terms is "attentional blindness," and we will hear what the lead

researcher of HeartMath, Rollin McCraty, has to say about this later. I see this

as something to be concerned with in today's world because it suggests that

we may need to let go of our limiting beliefs to envision a new reality.

It's no secret, to anyone who cares to know, that the profit from weapons

sold to Third World countries by the United Kingdom and the United

States is far more than the aid they give those same countries. For far too

long First World countries have worked behind a veil that is possible only

because "we the people" were not thinking for ourselves. In light of massive

amounts of documentation, it has become absurd to even pretend that our

intentions are honorable and just. As we break down hardened beliefs we

will open up new ways of seeing the world, ways in which we can cocreate

a better world. This can happen only if we are honest with ourselves, and

herein lies the challenge.

It is also the purpose of this book to point out that it may be time to

rewrite our human history. For the last few centuries we have accepted a

biblical history that has been eroding because of science and the human

passion for understanding. You will find within these pages what I believe

will be the final blow to organized religions. Even now, biblical scholars

and even the Vatican are recognizing the overwhelming evidence that all is

not well with our biblical interpretation of history, that along with the fact

that it simply doesn't work in a modern-day society with high-technology.

In fact, if anyone were to try to live out in today's world the laws laid down

in scripture, he or she would end up in prison or labeled a terrorist. But

history has shown that apathy and silence have aided in the expansion of

superstition for far too long. Later, we will let the evidence speak for itself,

because remember this: The whole point is for you to think for yourself, do

your own research, and come to your own conclusions based on the best

evidence.

To create a new and better future, we must first see where we are and

how we got here so we don't end up dragging fragments of our past into the

future, fragments that end up being the seeds of our destruction. We must

start fresh, clean, and with a clear vision of what needs to be done and this

will come about only after we expose our faulty and limited way of dealing

with life, which is the way we believe life has to be. If we want to evolve and

move on we must first release ourselves from our primitive past beliefs and

superstitions, which is what this book is about-creating a new world by

identifying and letting go of our outdated and dysfunctional beliefs.
